Symptom
A large SAP Sybase IQ database (larger than several Gb) is restored from a backup taken at an identical primary server. The utility database session "hangs" after it has restored all the blocks.
utility_db srvlog shows:
I. TIMESTAMP. Database "utility_db" (utility_db) started at TIMESTAMP
I. TIMESTAMP. Starting database "a_restore" (/PATH/IQ_DB.db) at TIMESTAMP
I. TIMESTAMP. Starting database "a_restore" (/PATH/IQ_DB.db) at TIMESTAMP
I. TIMESTAMP. Database recovery in progress
I. TIMESTAMP. Last checkpoint at TIMESTAMP
I. TIMESTAMP. Rollback log...
I. TIMESTAMP. Checkpointing...
I. TIMESTAMP. Recovery complete
I. TIMESTAMP. Database "a_restore" (IQCLDW01.db) started at TIMESTAMP
I. TIMESTAMP. Database "a_restore" (IQCLDW01.db) stopped at TIMESTAMP
I. TIMESTAMP. Starting database "a_restore" (/PATH/IQ_DB.db) at TIMESTAMP
The restored IQ database will not startup after this. Srvlog show:
E. TIMESTAMP. Resource temporarily unavailable
I. TIMESTAMP. Database server shutdown due to startup error
I. TIMESTAMP. Database server stopped at TIMESTAMP
