1955346 - "Determination of source inventory failed for product" Error When Selecting Propose Quantities and Logistics Area

In a supply task, when you select Propose Quantities and Logistics Area button system is not proposing any logistics area, system displays error messages:

'Determination of source inventory failed for product ABC' (ABC means product ID).

'Inventory in the logistics area not available.'

1. Go to the Production Control work center.
2. Select the Task Control view.
3. Search for the relevant task.
4. Select the searched task and choose Confirm button.
5. In the task confirmation screen, choose Propose Quantities and Logistics Area button.
6. System does not propose any logistics area. Also it displays following error message:

'Determination of source inventory failed for product ABC'.

'Inventory in the logistics area not available'.

Since the Expiration Date set for the relevant Identified Stock has got over for the product ID (ABC) and hence no longer valid to use though having stock in the specified logistics area.

To use the relevant Logistics Area, please follow the below steps:

1. Go to the Planning and Production Master Data Work Center.
2. Go to the Identified Stock View.
3. In the field Show, select All Identified Stocks using drop down and search for the relevant Identified Stock ID using Find option.
4. Select and edit the Identified Stock ID.
5. In the General Data Section, change the Expiration Date to the future date.
6. Then perform Save.
