Symptom

  • A login fails due to corrupt password
  • The ASE errolog reports message

    Password for login name 'user_name' is corrupt. Please reset the password.

  • Connection terminates when resetting the password
  • As a result of a signal 11 at Address testpasswd
  • With log entries including:

    Current process (0x4cc90483) infected with signal 11 (SIGSEGV)
    Address 0x0x000000000166a645 (testpasswd+0x285), ...

    Current Procedure: sp_password
    or
    SQL Text: ALTER LOGIN
