1956113 - Excel Based Report Takes Too Long to Open

You are working with an excel based report, however, when the report is opened, it takes too long to load.

1. Go to the Business Analytics workcenter.
2. Search for the required excel based report and open it.
3. Here, report takes about 7 to 10 minutes to load.

The root cause for the long loading times is the fact that this particular Excel-based report (i.e. Excel workbook) is quite large. A normal size would be between 80 KB and 500 KB.

Although a workbook of around 5 MB may not be very big, downloading the file from the database to the system can trigger a lot of memory allocation operations on the server side.

To fix this issue, it is recommended to reduce the size of the work book either by setting the filters on the variable selection or by making certain fields as mandatory in the report.

This will improve the performance of the report immensely.
