Symptom

Apple iOS 7.1 beta 1 is no longer allowing over the air IPA installs using HTTP, and requires SSL (HTTPS).

Impact for deploying iOS applications using Afaria:

  • If not using HTTPS for Package Server connections, the iOS 7.1 device will report an error in the device console (IPCU) log.
  • The iOS application will not be able to be deployed to the device.
  • Non-iOS 7.1 devices will still be able to install the applications if only HTTP is being used for the Package Server connections.
