1959483 - In BI 4.x, Audit data does not get written in the Audit database for column Object_Folder_Path

Symptom

  • Audit data is not written to the Audit database.  Temporary files remain in the Auditing directory indefinitely.
  • In the Central Management Console > Auditing, the following error is posted:
    • "Audit data may remain in the server buffer"
  • Errors like the following are posted to (Windows) the Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Application logs or (Unix / Linux) the messages file:
    • "The value <pathname> is too large for the audit database column Object_Folder_Path"
    • where <pathname> = the complete BI folder path, totaling more than 255 characters
