Symptom

  • Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) may report a timeslice error with a stack trace for simple queries against ASE monitoring "pipe" tables.
  • Stack trace may include module VTABRemoteAccess::getNext()
  • Query may be as simple as SELECT * FROM ...
  • Objects involved may be: monDeadLock, monErrorLog, monSysPlanText, monSysSQLText or monSysStatement
