1963568 - Error: 3702 and Error 622 are reported in errorlog - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • Adaptive Server Enterprise errorlog reports Errors 3702 and 622:
     
    Error: 3702, Severity: 16, State: 1
    Cannot drop the table '' because it is currently in use.
     
    Error: 622, Severity: 20, State: 1
    Opentable was passed a varno of 0. Object '#mytemp01000600020590207' in database  'mytempdb1' already has that session descriptor in use. This occurred while opening object id 688002451 in database id 4.
  • Other messages seen in the error log may include:

    Msg 1105, Level 17, State 4:
    Server 'servername', Line 1:
    Can't allocate space for object 'syslogs' in database 'tempdb' because 'logsegment' segment is full/has no free extents. If you ran out of space in syslogs, dump the transaction log. Otherwise, use ALTER DATABASE to increase the size of the segment.

    background task message: Warning: SERVERNAME tempdb logsegment is at 79.99 space available in the log segment has fallen critically low in database 'tempdb'. 
    All future modifications to this database will be aborted until the log is successfully dumped and space becomes available.
    Failed to allocate disk space for a work table in database 'tempdb'.
    You may be able to free up space by using the DUMP TRANsaction command, or you may want to extend the size of the database by using the ALTER DATABASE command.
    Failed to execute the threshold procedure for database 2, segment 2, free space 746072.
     
  • User batch both creates the temporary table and inserts data to the temporary table in the same batch
  • User batch was interrupted by a control-c or similar - or the space in tempdb is low.
