1964769 - ON_TSQL_ERROR database option behavior not as documented - SAP IQ

Symptom

  • The SAP IQ database option ON_TSQL_ERROR controls error handling in stored procedures for the purpose of establishing behavior compatible with ASE. The default setting is CONDITIONAL.
  • It is set to CONTINUE by the system stored procedure sp_tsql_environment for every T-SQL login. With the CONTINUE setting, IQ should execute additional statements after encountering an error, typically to raise a user-defined error message. Instead, processing stops.
  • A T-SQL login uses the TDS communications protocol and comes from a jConnect or Open Client connection. Open Client isql is an example of a TDS-based utility, commonly used with IQ for command processing. Applications connecting with ODBC are not affected by this.
