1964966 - Error Message "Conversion not valid; quantity types must be different" While Migrating Materials or Services

You are in the process of migrating Materials or Services in your system and during simulation, system throws below error message:

Conversion not valid; quantity types must be different

Conversion between XXX and YYY already exists

1. Go to Business Configuration work center
2. Select Implementation Projects view or Overview.
3. Search and Open the migration activity for Service or Material
4. Execute Migration for the respective Migration File

The cause for the issue is that, in the Quantity Conversion sheet, you have maintained Quantity Conversion between same UoM for Materials or Service.

For Example: 1 EA is mapped to 100 EA, which is not possible.

The system works as designed.

Quantity Conversions cannot be maintained from same quantity type to same quantity type like mass to mass. You can find the same error if you maintain the such UoM in UI as well.

You have maintained quantity conversions from same quantity type to same quantity type in the quantity conversion sheet. For example, the conversion have been maintained from cm to m, m to ft and kg to pound. In all such cases conversion are from same quantity type to same quantity type.

Change the erronous values (maintained valid conversion between two different UoMs) and simulate the migration again.
