Symptom
- Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) document "Installation and Configuration Guide for Sun Solaris" have a wrong description about Direct I/O for the ZFS filesystem on Solaris.
The documentt contains the following description regarding as system requirement.
Note: Adaptive Server supports the 128-bit Zettabyte File System (ZFS) on Solaris 10. To guarantee data integrity, set DSYNC or Direct IO on.
You can turn DSYNC or Direct IO off only for temporary databases that do not require recovery.
