Symptom

  • Bulk insert or other continuous DML command to the SAP IQ from such an ODBC application create a very largre versioning.
  • This is specification of SAP IQ.
  • For example, Bulk insert is to send the following INSERT statement from such an ODBC application.

INSERT TABLE1 VALUES (....);
INSERT TABLE1 VALUES (....);
INSERT TABLE1 VALUES (....);
INSERT TABLE1 VALUES (....);
INSERT TABLE1 VALUES (....);
....
more times...
COMMIT;

  • Also, in order to create a large versioning, IQ store may be out of space.
