1967846 - How to Export the Details Section of Materials?

You have added texts in the Details text box of many Materials and require the Details to be exported using Microsoft Excel or Report.

 SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Product Data work center
2. Go to Materials view
3. Go to Materials subview
4. Query All Materials
5. Search any Material ID
6. Choose Edit 
7. You want to export the data from the Details field using Microsoft Excel or Report

The Export->To Microsoft Excel option which is available on the Materials Object Work List does not export the Details field of the Materials. Further, the reports which are associated with the Materials does not export the Details field of the Materials.

You can export the data from the Details field of Materials using the below steps in your system:

1. Go to Application and User Management workcenter 
2. Go to Data Extraction view 
3. Select New 
4. Run ID: XXXXX (where XXXXX represents the Run ID of Data Extraction) 
5. Run Description: YYYYY (where YYYYY represents the Run Description of Data Extraction) 
6. Select Extraction object: MATERIAL - Materials
7. Choose to Save 
8. Select Activate and Run 
9. Once the Run is Finished, at the bottom of the screen, in the Extraction Files, select the button Download File
10. Download the generated .XML file 
11. Go to the sheet Detailed Descriptions
12. You will be able to see the Details of the Materials
