1969590 - Rejected hours cannot be deleted.

Symptom

The Employee or Service agent recorded hours against project. The hours are rejected by the approver project manager, when the employee or service agent tries to delete rejected hours from the Time Sheet the hours cannot be deleted since the Delete button is grayed out in the Time Sheet.

Reproducing the Issue

Case 1.

  1. Go to the Home work center.
  2. Choose Self-Services Overview view.
  3. Choose the link Edit Time Sheet.
  4. The time sheet floor plan opens and here when the employee or service agent tries to delete rejected hours (marked in red color) from the Time Sheet the hours cannot be deleted since the Delete button is grayed out in the Time Sheet.

Case 2.

  1. Go to the Project Team work center.
  2. Chose Edit Time Sheet under Common Tasks.
  3. The time sheet floor plan opens and here when the employee or service agent tries to delete rejected hours (marked in red color) from the Time Sheet the hours cannot be deleted since the Delete button is grayed out in the Time Sheet.

Cause

The reason here is Project is closed, completed or stopped and time recordings done against the project are locked because the Project is closed, completed or stopped, when the employee or service agent tries to delete rejected hours from the Time Sheet the hours cannot be deleted since the Delete button is grayed out in the Time Sheet.

Resolution

Please revoke the project status back to release so that the system enables the delete button in the Time Sheet and the  employee or service agent can go ahead and delete the rejected hours from the time sheet.

Please follow the steps to revoke the project status back to release this can only be done by Project Manager.

  1. Go to Project Management work center.
  2. Choose Projects View.
  3. Choose Projects sub view.
  4. Choose Project XYZ (XYZ represents the project ID against which the employee or service agent had done the time recoding which was rejected by the Approver Project Manager).
  5. Choose Edit --> Project Plan Button.
  6. Go to Basic Data tab.
  7. Go to Project Status value help choose the Revoke Closure and Revoke Completion and Save.

If you don’t want to revoke the Project status back to release then the Administrator can delete the Rejected hours from the Employee or Service Agent Time Sheet via Time Administration work center.
