1969650 - Released Time Entries cannot be Edited or Deleted.

Symptom

When the employee or service agent tries to edit released time entries (Active, Approved) or tries to remove the rejected time entries against project tasks in time sheet the time entries read-only and remove button is disabled in time sheet.

Reproducing the Issue

Case 1.

  1. Go to the Home work center.
  2. Choose Self-Services Overview view.
  3. Choose the link Edit Time Sheet.
  4. The time sheet floor plan opens and here when the employee or service agent tries to edit released time entries (Active, Approved) or tries to remove the rejected (marked in red color) time entries against project tasks in time sheet the time entries read-only and remove button is disabled in time sheet.

Case 2.

  1. Go to the Project Team/Time Administration work center.
  2. Chose Edit Time Sheet under Common Tasks.
  3. The time sheet floor plan opens and here when the employee or service agent tries to edit released time entries (Active, Approved) or tries to remove time entries against project tasks in time sheet the time entries read-only and remove button is disabled (grayed out) in time sheet.

Cause

The project task is Complete, Close or Stop.

Resolution

Once the project status is Revoked back to release the time entries and the Remove button will enabled in the Time Sheet and the employee or service agent can go ahead edit and remove released the time entries in time sheet.

Follow the steps to revoke the project status back to release this can only be done by Project Manager.

  1. Go to the Project Management work center.
  2. Choose Projects View.
  3. Search and find Project XYZ (XYZ represents the project ID against which the employee or service agent recorded the time which they need to edit/remove).
  4. Choose Edit.
  5. Go to Basic Data tab.
  6. Go to Project Status value help choose the "Revoke Closure" or "Revoke Completion" and Save.
  7. You can now edit the time sheet, the remove button will now be available.

Rejected time entries:

If you don’t want to revoke the Project status back to release then the Administrator can delete the Rejected time entries from the Employee or Service Agent Time Sheet via Time Administration work center.
