Symptom
- The System.Data.Common.DBProviderFactories object allows Microsoft .NET programmers to program against different databases without requiring an explicit link reference to an ADO.NET data provider. This allows for .NET developers to develop a "common code base" for different databases and request different database ADO.NET data providers at runtime. When working with the SQL Anywhere ADO.NET Provider and the DBProviderFactories class in SQL Anywhere 11 and applying any Support Package (SP) or Emergency Bug Fix (EBF) higher than 11.0.1.2427, it is possible to see the exception:
System.InvalidCastException - Unable to cast object of type 'iAnywhere.Data.SQLAnywhere.SACommand' to type 'iAnywhere.Data.SQLAnywhere.SACommand'
- Other errors related to casting the same SQL Anywhere ADO.NET object type are also possible.
