Symptom

  • Dump Database command returns and error.
    • Command:  dump database <SID> to 'g:\iqbackup\<SID>_20140120.dmp'

  • Errors:

    Jan 20 10:08:19 2014: Backup Server: 4.30.2.3: Volume validation error: attempt to open G:\sybase\<SID>\sapdata_1\<SID>_data_001.dat returned Access is denied.
    Jan 20 10:08:19 2014: Backup Server: 4.27.2.1: Volume validation error: attempt to close G:\sybase\<SID>\sapdata_1\<SID>_data_001.dat returned The handle is invalid.
    Jan 20 10:08:19 2014: Backup Server: 4.27.2.1: Volume validation error: attempt to close G:\sybase\<SID>\saplog_1\<SID>_log_001.dat returned The handle is invalid.
    Jan 20 10:08:19 2014: Backup Server: 4.27.2.1: Volume validation error: attempt to close I:\\sapdata_2\\<SID>_data_002.dat returned The handle is invalid.
    Jan 20 10:08:19 2014: Backup Server: 4.27.2.1: Volume validation error: attempt to close J:\\sapdata_3\\<SID>_data_003.dat returned The handle is invalid.
