1975471 - How to Add Fields (Characteristic or Key Figure) to a Report

Symptom

While working with report XYZ you want to know if additional fields, available from the respective data source, can be displayed in the desired report.

Environment

  • SAP Business ByDesign
  • SAP Cloud for Customer

Resolution

In ByD:

  1. Open the respective report.
  2. In the top right corner click Configure > Add Fields.
  3. Choose between the Characteristic and Key Figure tab depending on what type of field you'd like to add.
  4. For characteristics, you can decide if you'd like to add it to the report only, or if you would like to add it to the selection as well.
  5. Make the required changes and click OK.

In C4C:

  1. Open the respective report and run it.
  2. Go to the view.
  3. Click Add Fields.
  4. Choose between the Characteristic and Key Figure tab depending on what type of field you'd like to add.
  5. For characteristics, you can decide if you'd like to add it to the report only, or if you would like to add it to the selection as well.
  6. Make the required changes and click OK.

Note:

  • If you are working with a custom report, it is strongly recommended that you (or your administrator) add fields through the report wizard. This will ensure the best possible performance, since adding fields via Add Fields uses more system resources.
  • Changes made by standard Users will be visible only to their own User.
  • Changes made by the Administrators via the Business analytics work center will be visible to all Users.
  • Changes made by the Administrators cannot be overridden by a Business User.
