1975970 - SAP Content Server: SQLConnect failed

Symptom

Preconditions:

  • The SAP Content Server is installed new on a UNIX/LINUX platform.
  • A SAP MaxDB is used as SAP Content Server database.
  • The Apache server is installed with "configure", "make" and "make install" as described in SAP Content Server Installation Guide and works fine.
  • The semaphores are defined on operating system as recommended in SAP note 628131 - SAP DB/MaxDB operating system parameters on Unix

 

Error descriptions:

The connection to a repository on SAP Content Server from SAP system fails with:

    Cannot start Document request, reason: SQLConnect failed...
    [MaxDB] Unable to connect to data source;
    -709 CONNECT: (cannot create communication semaphore),
    Error Code: -709\r\nX-ServerId: server="<servername>";serverPort="<port number>"\r\nX-ServerType: SAP HTTP Content Server\r\n
