1977731 - BOE KM Repository logon fails with “The plugin secSAPR3 does not exist (FWM 02016)” error

Symptom

After SAP Netweaver Portal integration with the BOE XI3.1, when SAP users login to enterprise portal and click on the the BusinessObjects knowledge management Repository  ( KM Repository ) content,  they
get an error from the portal that says “The plugin secSAPR3 does not exist (FWM 02016)”.

  • Issue started after upgrading from XI3.1 SP2 fixpack 2.2  to XI 3.1 SP5. The same workflow on another un-upgraded environment at SP2 works fine. However backing out of the SP5 does not fix the issue.
  • The users in the SAP portal are also the same as the one imported within in BOE as validated within CMC > Authentication > role import section.
  • Users are able to login to BOE Infoview with the same id (using SAP authentication) as well as login to the prompts from any of the links used within the KM Repository template configuration as tested within the IE browser from the portal server.
  • All prerequisites were met as suggested in the reference URL for BOE - SAP Portal integration: http://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/Integrate+BOEXI3.1+into+a+KM+Navigation+into+SAP+EP+portal
  • SAP kbase 1674711 which addressed similar issues were already implemented and Tomcat cache has been cleared
  • Enabling the CMS traces  [SAP kbase 1699767]  and SDK traces [ SAP kbase 1595617 ] did not yield any leads to the cause.
  • Netweaver Java Application server default trace captured following error -

The plugin secSAPR3 does not exist (FWM 02016)
