SAP Knowledge Base Article - Preview

1978769 - BI 4.1: "While trying to invoke the method com.businessobjects.rebean.wi.model.reportspec.IRSReportElement.getChildren() of an object loaded from ocal variable 'elem' (Error:INF)" when switching to Design tab.

Symptom

  • Web Intelligence document migrated from BI 4.0 SP4 to BI 4.1 SP2 returns error "While trying to invoke the method com.businessobjects.rebean.wi.model.reportspec.IRSReportElement.getChildren() of an object loaded from local variable 'elem' (Error:INF)" when switching to Design tab.

  • The cause for the problem seems to be a cross table element, because once removed (only possible using Web Intelligence Rich Client), the document can be opened.
