1979607 - How to Modify or Add Values to an Extension Field or a Pre-Delivered Field in General tab of Materials?

You have a requirement to modify a value or add a value to an Extension Field or a Pre-Delivered Field in General tab of Materials.

Because, it is not possible to Enhance a field through Migration and using Mass Change screen you can change only 999 Materials which is limited.

The above requirement can be performed through Mass Data Maintenance and the steps are as follows:

1. Go to Mass Data Maintenance work center.

2. Select Link for Export Materials.

3. Add the required Materials and select Ok.

4. Go to General tab

5. Select <export> for the columns which needs change.

6. Select Export Data to CSV File button.

7. In the Excel file, change/add the values for those fields and save the changes, and close the file.

8. Close the Export of Materials screen.

9. Select Link for Import Materials in Mass Data Maintenance work center.

10. Upload the file and execute Date import.

Once, the validation and import gets completed, and then check the changes in the respective materials.

Note:

In the Export Materials screen, you can find only 200 Materials this is due to technical constrains but Using the steps that are provided above, you can able perform this change for all the Materials.

In the place of step 3, select Go in the Export of Materials screen. You can find only 200 Materials in the screen but when you export, all the materials will be listed in the file.
