1984089 - CMS authentication issue to BPC web with BI 4.x

Symptom

  • The CMS (Central Management Server) Authentication Mode has been enabled in SAP Server Manager and the CMS system name, the authentication type and the cache expiration duration has been entered in 'Configure CMS' menu on the BPC .NET server.
  • Error: "User ID or password is not correct" when trying to log on to SAP Server Manager with CMS administrator user with BI 4.x.
  • Error: "The user ID, password cannot be authenticated. Make sure you entered valid credentials." when trying to log on to BPC web with a CMS user.

 

  • The following messages can be found in the Fiddler trace for the BPC NW 7.5 web connection failure:
    <h2>HTTP Error 404.0 - Not Found</h2>
    <h3>The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.</h3>
    <li>The directory or file specified does not exist on the Web server.</li>
    <li>The URL contains a typographical error.</li>
    <li>A custom filter or module, such as URLScan, restricts access to the file.</li>
