1984956 - Temp folder keeps growing and high usage of CPU and Memory - Afaria

Symptom

  • Afaria server process XComm utilizing high CPU and Memory.
  • Afaria server's temp directory is filled with thousands of tm1 file type.
  • Multiple XRS1161 and XRS1370 Errors logged in Afaria server log.
    XRS1161: ComApp: SEND DIR Write Tmp File Failed. [Idle timer expired [More Files]. ]EXPLANATION: The SEND DIR command operates by building a list of all the files in the directory. The file to receive this list could not be written. The Error field value may contain additional information about why the file could not be written. ACTIONS: The temporary files are built in the location specified by the TMP environment variable. Normally this variable points to a temporary directory. Verify that the TMP environment variable is defined and that it points to a valid directory. Also verify that the temporary directory has sufficient space available to receive the file. If it does not, you should consider deleting unused files.
    XRS1370: Transport: User Assignments error (hr=0x8007000e). EXPLANATION: The User Assignments subsystem returned an error. ACTIONS: Verify that the Operating System is functioning correctly. If the message recurs, contact your support representative for assistance.
