1985541 - BPC: How to troubleshoot "Cannot create Activex component" errors displayed in the browser when launching the /Osoft page

This article is mean to provide some troubleshooting tips to determine the root cause of this type of errors.

• Under certain conditions the following error is displayed in the browser when launching the /Osoft page: 

"Cannot create Activex component"

• In the BPC tblLogs table errors similar to the one below are found:

    DetailMsg  : {System.NullReferenceException: GetLateBindedObj: Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {ECFA8463-035F-3B6D-8F42-709119E03E7F} failed due to the following error: 80070005.(Assembly: OSoftComLibServer.dll, Object: OSoft.Services.Application.CustomXMLSvr.CustomXML.XMLParser)

   at OSoft.Services.Webservice.ApplicationService.ApplicationService.GetLateBindedObj(String strClassName)

   at OSoft.Services.Webservice.ApplicationService.ApplicationService.ObjectCreate()

   at OSoft.Services.Webservice.ApplicationService.ApplicationService.Query(String strQueryType, String strParameter, String strContext, String strSecurity)}
