1989198 - Not Possible to Nullify a Field in Material Master Data Using Mass Change

You have a requirement to nullify (clear) a value entered in a field for Materials. However when trying to perform this operation using the Mass Change functionality, an error related to the cleared field appears.

1. Go to the Product Data work center.
2. Enter the Materials view.
3. Select the materials to be updated.
4. Click on the button for Mass Change.
5. Delete the value of a field.
6. Click on Apply Mass Change and select either Selected or All objects.

Here an error message appears requesting the value in the field to be entered.

Currently it is not possible to nullify a value or a parameter in Material Master Data using Mass Change, Migration Tool or through Mass Data Maintenance functionalities.

The Mass Change, Mass Data Maintenance and Migration Tool can be used to modify an existing value or enhance a blank field with a new value, however it is not possible to delete values using these tools.
