1989294 - CHECK-APPLICATIONS-SNAPSHOT failed with NullPointerException

Symptom

Deployment using SUM is failing. In the TroubleTicket_**.txt file generated by SUM you can find the logs similar with the following log:

An error has occurred during the execution of the Check Java applications snapshot step with action execute. Service com.sap.sdt.jspm.service.ApplicationSnapshotService failed with the following message:
java.lang.NullPointerException:
You can find more information in the files /usr/sap/trans/SP/SUM/sdt/log/SUM/CHECK-APPLICATIONS-SNAPSHOT_**.LOG and ProcessOverview.html.
Use the information provided to trouble-shoot the problem. There might be an OSS note providing a solution to this problem. Search for OSS notes with the following search terms:
SUM,execute,final-system-start,check-applications-snapshot,com.sap.sdt.jspm.service.ApplicationSnapshotService,class java.lang.NullPointerException

In sdmlog<date>.log, you can see the error below:

Error: SDMAuthenticatorImpl.getPassword(): Password in SecStore is null or is empty. Will try to load it from SDM Repository.
