Symptom

  • When a scheduled batch job is executed the following error can be seen in AL_RWJobLauncherLog.txt
    *** ERROR: RWJobLauncher failed to connect to CMS. (BODI-1250220)
    *** RWJL_EXIT called.
  • In <install_dir>\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\logging, a new AL_RWJobLauncher_****_trace.glf is generated when a scheduled batch job is executed, with error:
    Service with name DSJobLauncherservice not found in CMS, failover without filter on service was required
