1995384 - SIA does not start after applying an Service Pack or Support Pack (XI 3.1, BI 4.0)

Symptom

  • Applying a Service Pack like SP5 or higher on SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1 with SP4 or lower causes the SIA to hang in a starting state with errors in event viewer "ntservice error: fail to connect to the SQL Anywhere"
  • Applying a Support Pack like SP05 or higher on SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence 4.0 SP04 or lower causes the SIA to hang.
