1996428 - The getData function does not work anymore after a timeout of the connection

A Sybase Aleri Streaming Platform (ASP) or SAP Event Stream Processor (ESP) application uses the getData function to select data from a database.

After a period in which no calls were made, the next call of getData does not succeed due to a dead connection and gives an exception like the following example:

Exception in thread "Thread-0" java.sql.SQLException: JZ006: Caught IOException: com.sybase.jdbc3.jdbc.SybConnectionDeadException: JZ0C0: Connection is already closed.
