A dialog is raised to say these characters cannot be used. They cause problems when used in URL strings, which are involved in the Web features of Profitability and Cost Management. Some Profitability and Cost Management applications, such as Data Bridge or Console, are also affected. Try to keep your Book and Model names restricted to common alphanumeric characters to avoid these issues. The list of unacceptable characters includes: ; Semi-colon : Colon :: Double colon , Comma ? Question mark / Forward slash @ At sign & Ampersand 281 2011-11-10 Books = Equal sign + Plus sign $ Dollar sign % Percent | Vertical Bar [ ] Left or Right Square bracket " Double quotes Some other characters are also allowed that can cause problems of a different nature. These are as follows: Control characters You should avoid introducing control characters, as these are likely to produce misleading results in the recipient application. The control characters are as follows: Symbol Control Key Control Action NUL ^@ Null SOH ^A Start of heading STX ^B Start of text ETX ^C End of text EOT ^D End of transmission ENQ ^E Enquiry ACK ^F Acknowledge BEL ^G Bell BS ^H Backspace HT ^I Horizontal tab LF ^J Line Feed VT ^K Vertical tab FF ^L Form Feed CR ^M Carriage Return SO ^N Shift Out SI ^O Shift In 282 2011-11-10 Books Symbol Control Key Control Action DLE ^P Data link escape DC1 ^Q Device control 1 DC2 ^R Device control 2 DC3 ^S Device control 3 DC4 ^T Device control 4 NAK ^U Negative acknowledge SYN ^V Synchronous idle ETB ^W End of transmission block CAN ^X Cancel EM ^Y End of medium SUB ^Z Substitute ESC ^[ Escape FS ^\ File separator GS ^] Group separator RS ^^ Record separator US ^_ Unit separator Spaces A similar problem is caused by spaces at the beginning or end of names, as these names will look the same as those without spaces and could lead to misinterpretation of results. Quotes Strings containing both single and double quotes in model names can also cause problems if you need to refer to the model name within rule script. Any quotes used in a model name may need an additional Escape sequence added to the code to ignore the quotes in the model name. , KBA , EPM , Enterprise Performance Management , EPM-SA , Spend Analytics , EPM-PCM , Profitability and Cost Management, EPO, PP, AA, Metify , Problem
