2001549 - The Update Remaining Work button is Grayed Out for Projects

You want to update the remaining work in a project and communicate it to costing area for cost evaluation, however the Update Remaining Work button is grayed out.

1. Go to Cost and Revenue work center
2. Go to Projects view
3. Select the Project that you want to update the remaining work

Notice that button Update Remaining Work is grayed out

The Update Remaining Work button is meant for updating remaining work to costing only if the project was created before Business ByDesign 1402 release. Since you in this case started using ByDesign from 1402 release, all projects created in the system were created after 1402 upgrade, which means that remaining work is already communicated to costing for cost evaluation the moment you saved the work created in the Projects.

Hence there is no need to trigger Update Remaining Work explicitly for such project instances as a result of which the button is read only for all project instances.

System is behaving as designed in this case. The Update Remaining Work button will be grayed out.
