2001628 - Backup Server Error:Tivoli Storage Manager environment variable 'DSMI_DIR' is not set - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • Tivoli Storage Manager (TSM) option license is enabled on ASE.
  • Configure ASE database backup using TSM client.
  • Error below will be reported in the backup server errorlog:

Backup Server: 4.124.2.1: Archive API error for device='syb_tsm::obj1.1::000':
Vendor application name=Sybase-TSM API, Library version=2, API routine=syb_open(), 
Message=Tivoli Storage Manager environment variable 'DSMI_DIR' is not set
