2001630 - User/password migration and users informed (UME: ABAP / LDAP)

Symptom

  • The aim of this KBA is to help server administrators migrate users from one SAP J2EE server to another and let end users know of the updated password.
  • Migrating users with password included will not work when the User Management Engine (UME) of the J2EE server is an ABAP server or an LDAP engine.
  • However, this feature is available when the UME is local DB (see SAP Note 1760085).
