Symptom
- Dump database is slower after a large amount of space is freed.
- After deleting rows from tables, truncating tables or dropping tables, backups of the database are taking much longer to complete.
- Example: a database dump to 30 stripes at a compression level of 5 normally takes 2-3 hours. After dropping a large table, dump is now taking 6 hours.
