2009194 - How to Capture Tabular Data Stream (TDS) Protocol Traffic in SAP Netweaver Context - SAP ASE for Business Suite

Symptom

  • You are running SAP Netweaver / Business Suite on Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE).
  • While investigating some connection issue, the developer and DBSL traces did not provide enough information, so you would like to capture the traffic between the Client and Server.
  • This KBA will guide you through the steps to capture Tabular Data Stream (TDS) Protocol traffic. The TDS protocol is used to communicate between Client and Server, the Server being SAP ASE.
  • Note: For non-Netweaver/Business Suite applications running on ASE, you can use RIBO to capture the TDS. Please refer to the See Also section.
