Hana Cloud Integration for data services (HCI) provides two functions to return current system date and time:
- SYSDATE() - returns the date and time in the local time zone of the HCI Agent machine.
- SYSDATE() is used with on-premise source systems (such as ECC or APO) that track time in their local time zone.
- SYSUTCDATE() - returns the date and time in UTC (Universal Coordinated Time).
- UTC is also known as GMT (Greenwich Mean Time).
- SYSUTCDATE() is used with SAP Cloud Applications (such as Sales and Operations Planning) which track time as UTC.
