2014132 - SAP IQ: IQ server failed to start with O/S error #9

Symptom

  • From IQ log you can see the following error message:

DBSPAWN ERROR: -80
Unable to start database server

  • From .iqmsg immediately preceding the “Abort” output:

O/S Err#: 9, ErrID: 518 (hos_bioexception);
SQLCode: -1006080, SQLState: 'QBA80', Severity: 14
Bad file handle passed to OS on file /RVLDIR/RLVddsp1.iq
-- (oslib/hos_bio.cxx 696)

  • Stacktrace during startup contains the following fuctions:

rv_LogPageListScan::rv_LogPageListScan
rv_LogScan::rv_LogScan
rv_LogRecoveryMgr::Analyze1
rv_LogRecoveryMgr::Recover
rv_Mgr::Recover
