2014472 - Web Intelligence: Why is there no message when the Idle Connection Timeout limit has been reached?

Symptom

  • A user is logged in to BI Launchpad and is viewing a Web Intelligence (WebI) report
  • The report is not being interacted with for a period of time which exceeds the Idle Connection Timeout setting on the Web Intelligence processing server, but the user is performing other actions in BI Launchpad so the BI Launchpad session timeout is not being exceeded.
  • When the user subsequently attempts to refresh the report, an error appears:

FatalException occurred. The cause was :
    com.businessobjects.corba.generic.container.proxy.internal.DependencyFailoverCallbackImpl$FailoverFatalException: Prepare failover failed

  • Why is there no friendly message warning the user that this timeout is approaching, similar to the BI Launchpad session expiry warning?
