2014876 - Error Message : Period Plan dates of work are inconsistent with that of task

While trying to extend the project duration or changing the scheduled dates, the system throws an error message: Period plan dates of work are inconsistent with that of task XYZ-N (XYZ-N represents the Project task ID).

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Navigate to Project Management work center
2. Choose the Projects view
3. Choose the Projects subview
4. Choose the Project XYZ (XYZ represents the Project ID).
5. Choose the Edit -Project Plan button.
6. Choose the Project Task XYZ-N (XYZ-N represents the Project task ID). 
7. Navigate to Scheduling Tab-> here try to extend the duration or enter the start date.
8. System throws an error message as "Period plan dates of work are inconsistent with that of task XYZ-N".

In the Project task XYZ-N, Period planned dates are earlier than the actual start date, hence the Period plan dates of work are inconsistent.

To check the period planned date, please follow the steps:

1. Choose the Project Task XYZ-N (XYZ-N represents the Project task ID). 
2. Navigate to Work Tab here you can see the period planned dates are earlier than the actual project task start date.

Change the Actual Start Date same as the Period Planned date then the task will become consistent.

To change the actual date please follow the below mentioned steps:

1. Choose the Project Task XYZ-N (XYZ-N represents the Project task ID). 
2. Navigate to Scheduling Tab-> here enter the Actual start date same as the Period Planned date.
