2015543 - rs_init fails with Error 2945 connecting to an upgraded ASE - SRS

Symptom

  • After upgrading SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) from version 15.0.3  to version 15.7 SP100
  • The rs_init utility was run to update the ASE database in SAP Replication Server (SRS), but failed with the following errors reported in the ASE errorlog:

Sending the following SQL command to the server: 'exec sp_config_rep_agent "test", enable,"DBAREPT1", "DBAREPT1_ra", "DBAREPT1_ra_ps"'.
SQL Server message: msg 2945, level 16, state 9
WARNING: "Failed to decrypt RA password.
SQL Server message: msg 9245, level 20, state 2
SERVER ERROR: "Failure during update/insert/delete from sysattributes. "
SQL Server message: msg 18424, level 16, state 1
WARNING: "Failed to enable Replication Agent for database  'test'."
