2016211 - Error 8203 "Expected to find the descriptor for object..." while creating a temporary table - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • ASE reports error 8203 in the errorlog while creating a temporary table:

Expected to find the descriptor for object <objid> in database <db_num> in <state> state

  • Stack trace in errorlog contains function crt_main().
  • ASE hasn't been rebooted for a very long time.
