2016464 - Consulting: "Logon of user XXX in client YYY failed when starting a step" in BI_PROCESS_TRIGGER

Symptom

A process chain is triggered but it is not started. The systems shows the following symptoms:

  • BI_PROCESS_TRIGGER job has the error message "Logon of user &1 in client &2 failed when starting a step" Message no. 00560
  • SM21 shows the errors:
    000 SAPSYS EMF Logon of Jobstep User Failed
    000 SAPSYS EME <BWUSER> <BWMANDT>
    000 SAPSYS EME Job: BI_PROCESS_TRIGGER 10002101
