Symptom
- Text Interpretation option missing.
- The option to interpret HTML or RTF text is unavailable in Crystal Reports.
- The Text Interpretation option is available for some objects, but not for others.
- When typing HTML or RTF text in a Text Object in Crystal Reports, the Text Interpretation option is not available.

Reproducing the Issue
- In Crystal Reports, create a report off any data source.
- Insert a Text Object on the report.
- Type HTML tags or RTF tags in the Text Object.
- Right click on the Text Object, and select "Format Text..."
- In the "Format Editor", under the tab "Paragraph", notice the Text Interpretation option is missing.
Cause
- Text Interpretation option is only available for Database Fields and Formula Fields that output text. It is not an option for Text Objects.
- Text Interpretation is not an option for Database Fields, or Formula Fields that output a Date, a Number, a Currency, or a Boolean.
Resolution
- To have the Text Interpretation option available for manually typed HTML or RTF text, enter the text in a formula, instead of a Text Object.
- Create a new formula.
- Type the HTML or RTF text within single or double quotations.
- Save and insert the formula on the report.
- Right click on the formula, and select "Format Field..."
- In the "Format Editor", under the tab "Paragraph", notice it is now possible to select the desired Text Interpretation option.
