Cause

  • Text Interpretation option is only available for Database Fields and Formula Fields that output text. It is not an option for Text Objects.
  • Text Interpretation is not an option for Database Fields, or Formula Fields that output a Date, a Number, a Currency, or a Boolean.

Resolution

  • To have the Text Interpretation option available for manually typed HTML or RTF text, enter the text in a formula, instead of a Text Object.

    1. Create a new formula.
    2. Type the HTML or RTF text within single or double quotations.
    3. Save and insert the formula on the report.
    4. Right click on the formula, and select "Format Field..."
    5. In the "Format Editor", under the tab "Paragraph", notice it is now possible to select the desired Text Interpretation option.
