2018675 - You received the message:No records found, when searching for a product during an Inventory Adjustment.

Symptom

You are trying to perform an Inventory Adjustment for the product ABC, however you are not able to find it during the first step of the adjustment.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Physical Inventory work center
  2. Select the common task New Inventory Adjustment
  3. Enter the Storage Location ID XYZ
  4. Enter the Product ID ABC
  5. Select Go
  6. The system displays the message No Records Found

Cause

There are three possible causes for this behavior:

A) The Logistics tab is not enabled for the product ABC

  1. Go to Product Data work center
  2. Go to Materials sub view, under Materials view
  3. Search and open the product ABC
  4. Select View All
  5. Access the Logistics tab
  6. See that the site XYZ is not Active

B) There are no stock available for the product ABC

  1. Go to Supply Planning work center
  2. Go to Products view
  3. Search for the product ABC
  4. For the site XYZ, the available stock of the product ABC is zero

C) The Location XYZ is an Externally Managed Site

  1. Go to Supply Planning work center
  2. Access the common task Stock Overview
  3. Enter the Storage Location ID XYZ
  4. Select Go
  5. See that, for this location, the stock type is External Warehouse

Resolution

A) The activation of the site XYZ in the master data of the product is necessary.

  1. Go to Product Data work center
  2. Go to Materials sub view, under Materials view
  3. Search and open the product ABC
  4. Select View All
  5. Access the Logistics tab
  6. For the site XYZ , change the status to Active
  7. Save the changes

B) It is possible to perform an Inventory Adjustment even with no stock available. In this case the user can still click on Next, enter the product ABC and complete the adjustment.

C) Since the site is Externally Managed, the adjustment needs to be done under the Third Party Logistics work center.

  1. Go to Third Party Logistics work center
  2. Select the common task New Inventory Change in Externally-Manager Location
  3. Here you can enter the product and perform the adjustment
