2020543 - Java application report conversion error after enable "statement cache" - SAP ASE

Symptom

When "enable statement cache" is turned on in ASE, the front-end Java application reports the following exception:

Error 500: org.springframework.jdbc.BadSqlGrammarException: PreparedStatementCallback; bad SQL grammar [message_s ?,?]; nested exception is com.sybase.jdbc3.jdbc.SybSQLException: Implicit conversion from datatype 'VARCHAR' to 'INT' is not allowed. Use the CONVERT function to run this query.
