2021325 - Error 5861 "The value of the 'max memory' parameter..." after ASE 16 upgrade - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • Although pre-upgrade passed, SAP ASE fails to boot during upgrade to version 16.x.
  • Errorlog contains error message 5861:

The value of the 'max memory' parameter (#) defined in the configuration file is not high enough to set the other parameter values specified in the configuration file. 'max memory' should be greater than the 'total logical memory' '#'.
