2024055 - Error "Time Information of Employee XYZ Already Created" During Migration of Time and Labor Management Data

You are trying to migrate time administration data using the Migration of Time and Labor Management Data, but system raises error "Time information of employee XYZ already created" (where XYZ stands for an actual employee ID).

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Business Configuration > Overview work center view.
2. Search for "migration of employee data."
3. Open the fine-tuning activity for the relevant employee's country/region of employment (e.g. Migration of Employee Data - Germany).
4. Click the "Migrate time and labor management data using the migration tool" link.
5. Click Upload Data > Data from Migration Template.
• If you have already uploaded the migration file, skip to step 8.
6. In the prompt, click Choose File and browse for the relevant file.
7. Once the file is selected, click Upload.
8. Select the file in the migration tool and click Execute Migration > Execute Migration Step by Step.
9. Error message is raised in step 3 - Simulate Import.

The Migration of Time Administration Data can only be used to add new records.

If a time file has been created for the employee, the system interprets this migration as an attempt to enhance/modify data, which is not supported through migration for Time and Labor Management data.

Note: irrespective of the way you hire an employee a basic time profile would be created by default.

Scenario 1

When you hire an employee through Personal Administration via regular tasks, the only way to create the time file is manually in the Time Administration work center.

Scenario 2

When you migrate an employee through migration, if you do not edit the time file manually, then you can proceed with migrating time file via Migration of Time and Labor Management

Scenario 3

When you migrate an employee through migration, if you edit the time file manually, then it'll no longer be ossible to migrate the time file through Migration of Time and Labor Management. The remaining option is to modify the time file manually in the Time Administration work center
