2029435 - Cannot Connect to OLAP Source (WIS 00000) error in Web Intelligence after upgrading BW

Symptom

  • Using Web Intelligence (WebI) Documents connecting to SAP Business Warehouse (BW) using BICS
  • WebI reports fail with the error message "Cannot connect to OLAP source (WIS 00000)"
  • A BW shortdump with the runtime error "CALL_FUNCTION_ILLEGAL_P_TYPE" is generated with the short text "Wrong parameter type in an RFC call"
  • New WebI reports hang after selecting the bex query to use
