2037601 - How to change location of DS_COMMON_DIR for SAP Data Services 4.x

Symptom

  • Starting with Data Services 4.1 and in later versions, the system variable DS_COMMON_DIR is set to C:\ProgramData\SAP BusinessObjects\Data Services
  • This causes logs, exported batch files, etc... to be created on drive C:\
  • Changing the DS_COMMON_DIR system variable path alone breaks the Data Services Management Console and makes Data Services dysfunctional.
